Scar is a mark left by wound. This may sound very simple but this may leave a really bad experience in the physical and emotional well-being of a person. It really makes a difference on the skins previous appearance and texture. It does not bring some simple frustrations. Some scars may even cause embarrassment, low self-esteem and trauma. Many accidents can cause scar and some of them are surgery, injury and burn just to name a few.

- Vitamin E – Studies show that applying Vitamin E directly on the skin will slow its healing process and can sometimes make the problem worse.
- Picking and Squeezing of acne – this is caused by collagen loss because of swelling. This practice can add to discoloration of the skin because of more and more collagen injury.
These kind of scars is caused by an aggressive of granulation tissue which results to expanding further than the original injury. Keloids appear to be shiny and pinkish to brownish color. If Keloids scars are big, it may hinder some actions or movements of sufferer. There are many available treatments to keloid scars like corticosteroids, cryosurgery, and radiation therapy to name a few.
Keloid scars are most common among people with dark skin.
This is kind of scar that brought by second to third burn injury which damaged the dermis. The texture of tissue that is replacing the wound is not the same as it is more rubbery. This kind of scar may hamper a person to move because it tighten the skin. Severe conditions can also affect the nerves and muscles. Thus, it should be treated as soon as possible. The most popular treatment available for this is silicone gel.
This is a condition that is similar to Keloid scars where too much excessive collagens were deposited. Like keloid scar, it is protruded but it does not expand outside the boundary of the wound. To ease from inflammation, steroids injection is recommended as scar treatment to flatten it.
